∙ Assisting in management of cases involving civil litigation from inception to completion encompassing case analyses and legal research ∙ Drafting of both initial and responsive pleadings and motions ∙ Filings of procedural documents ∙ Client and opposing counsel communications in order to best address the needs of our clients ∙ Performing legal, factual, records research ∙ Identifying relevant judicial decisions, statutes, legal articles, codes and other pertinent material ∙ Cross-checking and validating information ∙ Drafting legal documents including briefs, pleadings, appeals, agreements, contracts and legal memoranda ∙ Helping prepare legal arguments, applications, declarations and motions ∙ Checking and edit legal forms and documents for accuracy ∙ Organizing and tracking case files ∙ Reviewing and monitor new and updated laws and regulations ∙ Maintaining law library ∙ Co-ordinates law office activities such as subpoena delivery ∙ Locating and interview witnesses ∙ Helping with trial preparation including witness lists, exhibits and trial binders ∙ Assisting the lawyer in the courtroom
∙ Arranging mediation and other proceedings ∙ Contributing to trial preparation in litigation practices, providing behind-the- scenes support in the courtroom at hearings and trials, or in arbitration, mediation, administrative proceedings, and closings ∙ Drafting legal documents and pleadings, including deposition notices, subpoenas, motions, certifications, contracts, briefs, and complaints ∙ Handling discovery—the exchange of certain information between opposing parties to a lawsuit. Filing documents with federal and state courts ∙ Helping the attorney prepare wills ∙ Assisting in valuing the assets in the estate ∙ Drafting estate documents for the attorney’s review (wills, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and living wills) ∙ Preparing documents and assist with creating and transferring assets into trusts to ease the probate process ∙ During probate proceedings, prepares and files probate documents in the administration of an estate (petitions, motions, testamentary letters, inventories, accountings, and notices) ∙ Filing life insurance claims and other death benefits
∙ Greeting clients and visitors in person or over the phone ∙ Answering visitor inquiries ∙ Scheduling clients and other appointments ∙ Scanning, photocopying, faxing and filing documents ∙ Collecting and routing mail and hand-delivered packages ∙ Handling administrative duties such as data entry, and word processing ∙ Establishing new case files ∙ Drafting simple correspondence
∙Assisting the attorney with family law matters ∙ Drafting legal documents ∙ Dealing with all guardianships and adoption matters ∙ Handling all bankruptcy cases ∙ Conducting client consultations ∙ Dealing with court probate/conservatorship accountings.
